Boikanyo the Dion Herson Foundation (BDHF) works with children who grow up in abject poverty in the squatter camps of Protea South, Soweto, as well as in the deep rural areas of South Africa. BDHF assists the community holistically with different issues that affect children, with a special emphasis on educational solutions.

BDHF also has a particular interest in assisting children born with cerebral palsy (brain damage). They procure specialised used wheelchairs (buggies), renovate them and then transport them to the children’s homes for customised fitting. These buggies are instrumental in preventing deformities , and are a lifesaver for the children’s caregivers who have to carry the children everywhere.
