Interns

#NOTNORMAL

Life Choices Coding Academy, based in Lansdowne, Cape Town, focuses on Youth Development within previously disadvantaged communities. Our aim is to give the youth (aged 18 – 25 years old) tangible skills transferable to the employment market. The academy simulates how companies work so that students are ready to join the workplace in intern and/or junior positions and continue to be molded to the company’s needs and culture.

To give a brief summary of our program in point form:

  • Students go through a 6-month learning journey on-site where they learn a number of technologies related to full-stack web development. This also includes soft skills development.
    • Coding – full-stack web development program (HTML/CSS/Bootstrap, JavaScript, Node.JS, MySQL)
    • Professional Development
    • Personal Development
  • The internships ideally need to be for a minimum of six months.
  • The placement partners (company) ideally need to remunerate the intern with a minimum salary of R6000 per month payable directly to the intern.
  • Upon the successful completion of an internship, the company should be able to extend either a full-time employment contract or an extension onto a formal contract.
  • No placement fees required
